Welcome to the World Isabelle Grace

Happy One Week Birthday Isabelle Grace! I have a strange feeling that we have known each other forever...I guess that is what happens when you fall in love :) who knew that it was possible to love more deeply, more truely and more purely. You are so beautiful and the days are going too quickly. You already know how to lift your head right up and your umbilical cord stump fell off last night :) yay! You can latch on by yourself, but most of all you and I are completely dependant on each other to feel ok. At night I dream about you when you are with Daddy in another room...I can't sleep long without you near me, and you are the same because you need another feed. I better go have a lie down before it gets dark and the REAL work begins. I love you my little scooby doo...

10 days to go before due date...

It is only 10 days to go before our baby is due and lately I have been "nesting" not because I have the energy, but because I am trying to keep my mind off the pending birth. It is so exciting waiting, but it makes the days feel longer, the nights more restless and everything else kind of unimportant. So today I went a little crazy with the bi-carb soda on our oven and every surface that I could see! I am trying to get all the little extra bits of washing done and the odd little jobs that come my way. I made the mistake of leaving the back door open while organising the recycling and Lucy brought in tiny lizard (still perfectly alive) which was a drama in itself to catch! Imagine me yelling at her to try and keep away...she was trying to help me catch it...although to her it was a game and to me it was a effort to catch it before it went underneath the skirting boards. I wasn't impressed. Hopefully the lizard will have a long and happy life now without getting caught by Lucy once again...but somehow I doubt that.

Baby is still doing well, but my blood pressure has risen again (probably because I am not relaxing and I ate some naughty foods on Sunday for mother's day) but atleast it is not long now before the baby arrives...the maximum time left is 20 days before they insist that I be induced so that is a blessing. I hope it doesn't get to that point though. Other than the heart burn and occasional cramp I can't complain and I am trying my best to just enjoy BEING and having this quiet time on my own, reading, watching old episodes of The OC and tidying up my home ready for baby to take home.

I hope you like the wall decal that Maureen bought for me! It looks fantastic but the walls are concrete and apparently it doesn't adhere all that well...so Luke has to constantly stick it down again for me with a glue stick!! It is working ok now. But i love the baby's room now, I like just going in there and looking around, and I know I will enjoy going in there once baby arrives, it is a very calm environment (despite the very pink curtains!)

On a break...

Amy Butler Fabric.

I am sorry to everyone who occasionally reads my blog but I have lost a bit of interest in writing at the moment and I think partly that may have to do with the "waiting game" that I am playing with my baby and also the sheer exhaustion. And I feel guilty about not being in contact and updating you on the life of anna...but with all the washing to do for baby and guests, cleaning and extra tasks as well as artwork on my mind...I am going to put a raincheck on my blog (not that i will have much time after the baby is born...but maybe I will see it as relaxation and mummy time!) So I am sorry that I can't update you but I will still look at your blogs becaus ethey make me smile. Lots of love for now, Anna xx

My Favourite Things right now...

This is a little random but I was just scrolling through all my images that I have collected from the internet over the past two weeks...to a couple of months ago...and these are my favourites which i often look at:
1. the Marie Antoinette movie with Kirsten Dunst has the nicest colour scheme known to mankind...in my opinion...i'd buy the movie just for that-but thank goodness it also has a story line! Fluro pinks and saturated pastels just look divine...
2. A nursery image that I found in ohdeedoh which has a similar tree decal that I want to get for my bubba's nursery. I just like the lighting and the clean lines in the room...it seems so inviting despite it's small size.
3. This picture of "happiness" that was on someone's blog that I was browsing...don't know what it was though, but the colours and flowers are so delightful and...like her photograph was simply titled: happiness :)
4. A very cute dress that Bec directed me to on the Baby Gap website! It is such a pretty summer dress! I hope I can find one similar, or make one maybe one day!
5. Finally, a gorgeous little bookshelf arrangement that makes me want to clean up my house/or make a little display everytime I look at it!
Hope you enjoy the pictures..they make me feel inspired to create and do things :)
Happy Easter everyone!
P.S. I am sitting here on our back porch with a cup of delicious decaf tea and my laptop watching the birdies catching all the bugs flying around by our washing line at 5.30pm and it looks like 7pm at night! Lovely but strange :)

Just a few pictures of the progress so far...

I have been working on the baby's room for a couple of months now and this is what Luke and I have done so far...(he did all the assembling!)
There is still nothing on the walls as yet (I am hoping to get a tree wall decal to put above the chest of drawers). The little teddies that are on the drawers won't be there for much longer as the little eyes on the plushies aren't good for babies, so they will be packed away for a little while. I wanted them on a shelf but Luke doesn't want to put too many holes in the walls! So I will have to make do. (I could try to do it myself when he is not around...but I can just imagine things going terribly wrong with me and a drill!) I still need to discover a way to put all the nappy changing equipment in an easy to reach place...as in a little shelf for keeping a couple of nappies, lotion and wipes etc close by...(any suggestions would be great!) I did see a little plastic nappy caddy thingy at Toys R Us but our change table is too solid to use that one, unfortunalty, because it was quite good and would have solved my problem. But all her clothes that we have bought and received so far are ready in her cupboard, and she has her little bed minus a few blankets and so forth, so if she arrived now...she would be quite cosy I think! And I have my bed to sleep if I can't bear to leave her alone at night :)
